LCSW Private Practice, EMDR Certified, SEP in training

“I wish I had something like this earlier in my career. My training was great, but there was limited amount of personalized consultation and support.

I’m so grateful that Esther has this space to provide both. This [consult, training & support], is helping me lean into my skills & competence.”

  • Madi Jackson M.A, LPC, NCC

Saint Martin de Porres High School Grade Level Counselor

“Taking the trauma course was helpful for my daily practice working with high-school students. Many of my students have had and continue to suffer from trauma. This course allowed me the opportunity to learn more in depth causes for the outward behaviors often displayed in the classroom.

Esther was great at taking the time to create space to discuss specific caseloads and offered thoughtful ways to approach clients when they appear to be “stuck.” She created a welcoming platform for us to engage with other clinicians and allowed for conversation, input, and questions from each of the participants. The information is vast and extensive and will take some time to get through however, it is essential to learn and understand its content in order to be a therapist offering trauma support.”

  • Michali Friedman LCSW-C

“Myself + my lovely team joined Esther’s course because we are really believe that every single therapist that works with a human should be trauma informed.

Which means they should understand what tools and skills are necessary when working with someone who has been impacted by any kind of trauma.

One of the things I got from Esther’s Trauma Course (among many other things) was real tools, a comprehensive list of so many different tips+tricks that can help myself, as well as my team learn how to effectively help those that are dealing with trauma.”

“ I gained so much from every session.”

Esther has a ton to offer and offers it super naturally. The information was clear, and the instruction was excellent, but one of the most valuable parts of this course was the live sessions with a group of therapists where we could get present with the process of learning and growth. I gained so much from every session.

The incorporation of information, suggested interventions, and other skills that came up organically through the conversations in the consultation groups has proven to be super-helpful.

“I have known Esther for several years and have always been deeply grateful for her understanding of and expertise in working with trauma. When she announced the launch of this course I eagerly reached out to her to get more information and to sign up all my clinicians. We were all quite impressed with the knowledge and practical application this course holds.

It is not only essential for therapists to be trauma informed in this current environment, they must also have a variety of practical tools ready to help the wounded souls in our care journey toward healing. This course is a must for any therapist who wants to deepen knowledge of trauma. Even those of us who are seasoned trauma specialists can still benefit from the reminders this course has to offer. And for the newer clinician - I would say this is utterly essential for competent practice. I cannot recommend this course highly enough.”

  • Arnrún Bergljótardóttir, Drug Addiction Counselor, and Mental Health Counselor

BUGL psychiatric hospital in Reykjavík, Iceland

“I got the honor of partaking in Esther Goldstein's trauma therapist course. I myself am devoted to unpacking the many layers of substance abuse and Trauma work with individuals living with a substance use disorder.

At the moment I am devoted to my work as a drug and alcohol counselor at one of the biggest detox centers in Scandinavia, & am also partaking in harm reduction through the Icelandic Red Cross. The course that Esther taught helped me develop a deeper understanding of trauma work with vulnerable clients & gave me a great insight into the importance of devoting time & effort into their trauma work in order to do it well and to do it efficiently. Esther explained each module in a very clear way & made the course both interesting and fun in my opinion. This is definitely a course that I would recommend to any psychologist that is interested in widening their horizon and diving into trauma work with their clients, as it has definitely had a profound positive impact on the way that I approach my clients & their trauma.”

If you are interested in learning more about mental health disorders or the depths of trauma, then this is a course you do not want to miss!”

In my experience, what I gained [ from the trauma training] most from the cohort is knowledge!

The cohort has allowed me to challenge my thought process and approach in working with clients that have expressed experiences of trauma- and even those who have not explicitly identified as experiencing trauma, but have shared their history and childhood experiences that have yet to be resolved, leaving certain parts of them "stuck" in time.

Trauma-informed approach can be beneficial in treating other mental health diagnoses as well (e.g., anxiety and attachment history/style).

“Esther has the natural ability to bring warmth and welcome to any room she is in or person she is with.

I am honored to know her professionally and personally and strongly feel that the field of trauma recovery would be lacking without her ability to connect the community, educate, and help hurting people heal through her leadership and expertise as a trauma therapist, trainer, and speaker. It is clear that her core values as a human being are aligned with her work and her highly skilled team of therapists at Integrative Psychotherapy.

A lifelong learner, she is the person other therapists turn to for answers, guidance, and mentoring. I highly trust any training or educational offering Esther provides and am honored to be in her circle. Esther is profoundly thoughtful, paced, wise, and grounded which allows any client or audience she is connected with to also feel the same.

She has dedicated her career to learning from the best of the best, which means if you are taking one of her trainings, listening to an interview, working with her as a client, or consulting with her that you are certain to feel inspired, seen, and lead.

She is a leading expert in EMDR, Somatics, and Ego-state/parts work and humbly infuses this in all that she says and does. You are in good hands with Esther and I highly recommend her!

Founder Harper Therapy & Author Soul Sabbatical

“As a trauma therapist for over 13 years, I know first-hand that becoming a skilled, effective clinician in your trauma-focused practice requires more than only attending the latest trauma training or reading the current book that's all of the rage in the therapist communities.

Frankly, all of that goes out the window when you're sitting in front of that client who has the most intense trauma. You know, the one they make movies about. But for you, that's a Tuesday.

Effective trauma treatment is a combination of science and art. Wisdom and practice.

    That's where Esther comes in.

Esther is a colleague who uses the most effective, evidence-based approaches to healing trauma in a way that is compassionate and wise. She brings together the most powerful components of several trauma modalities to teach clinicians about healing trauma interventions, and she brings her years of experience to support clinicians in how to handle sessions that are difficult.

And because trauma work can be dark work to carry, I also appreciate the humor she brings into the room, which is also very healing. I can’t recommend her trainings, consultation, and support enough!”

“As a case manager for Chai Lifeline Canada, trauma is a key factor that we help our clients process through everyday. With Esther’s training and expertise, I developed a deeper understanding of the nature and outgrowths of trauma and how to ensure that our clients are supported throughout their journey.

Esther is an unending wealth of skill, intuition and compassion. Her ability to hold a client’s emotions while uncovering the depth of their traumas make her an outstanding clinician. I have changed the way I interact both with clients and in my own life and walked away with a wealth of knowledge and skill that has made me a more successful and intuitive case manager.”

  • Dafna Gutkind, LCSW

“The trauma course at integrative psychotherapy was an amazing experience. Whether someone is learning trauma skills for the first time, looking to solidify and expound upon what they already know, learn more techniques in depth, or gain understanding of how to better structure and strengthen their sessions to be more impactful, they can benefit greatly from this course. I learned IFS and other somatic approaches, and how to integrate them into my work with clients. I also learned how to be present for my clients in a way that helps hold their pain and allows them to heal and gain the most out of their therapy.

Esther includes so many anecdotes and personal examples which helps with understanding of the material and the general flow of the course.

There is a weekly zoom session where cases are shared and discussions of how to implement the techniques are explored. There are also numerous worksheets and resources to use in session with clients, all of which contributed to the course being invaluable and a great asset to any therapist or mental health professional.”
